Water and Waste Water Critical Parameter Monitoring & Control

We perform all Water and Waste Water Related critical Parameters continuous sampling and monitoring.

In order to achieve the permissible discharge quality of treated water from all the influent streams, the scope of work will pertain to all the contributing streams, considering worst level of contaminants in the feed, as experienced in recent months. The scope will also include the sources of wastewater. All the improvements, issues regarding source control, equipment modifications and applicable patented chemistries for performance enhancement will be addressed in totality.

Waste Water Analysis Critical Parameters, Sampling Method with outcome and benefits

Critical Parameters

  • COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand)
  • BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand)
  • TSS (Total Suspended Solids)
  • TDS (Total Dissolved Solids)
  • pH (Potential of Hydrogen)
  • Oil & Grease

Sampling Method

  • Periodic Grab Sample
  • Composite Sampling
  • Time-Proportional
  • Flow-Proportional
  • Manual Sampling
  • Automatic Sampling

Outcome of Sampling

Physical:

  • Temperature, pH, Turbidity
  • TSS (Total Suspended Solids)

Chemical:

  • BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand)
  • COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand)
  • TDS (Total Dissolved Solids)
  • Oil & Grease, Nutrients (Nitrogen, Phosphorus)
  • Chlorides, Heavy Metals (e.g., Hg, Pb, Cd, Cr)

Biological:

  • Total Coliforms, Fecal Coliforms (E. coli)
  • Pathogen Screening

Operational:

  • DO (Dissolved Oxygen)
  • Sludge Volume Index (SVI)
  • MLSS/MLVSS

Benefits

  • Physical: – Indicates basic water conditions and solids load.
  • Chemical: Measures organic/inorganic pollutants, chemical pollution, and toxicity.
  • Biological: Determines microbial contamination and public health risk.
  • Operational: Helps optimize biological treatment process (like aeration control).

Case Study – Pharma Waste Water Treatment Plant Analysis

Scope of Work:

  • Study and analyze current treatment philosophy and suggestion of better segregation / routing etc. within WWTP for optimum performance of various unit operations of wastewater management system.
  • Study and analyze operational parameters & conditions and suggestion for improvement.

  • Analysis of lab data & interpretation of the results. If necessary, methods of testing to ascertain the correctness of its reporting for a specified parameter are to be checked.

  • Review of monitoring & control of essential parameters. Present performance monitoring of individual units is also to be reviewed.

  • Functioning of individual equipment in the units are to be closely examined in terms of present operation, constraints & limitations. In depth analysis shall be done to achieve original design performances, if not better. It will address, but not limited to:

    • Root cause for poor functioning of biological units (both anaerobic, anoxic & aeration tank as separate units) & methods to improve / upgrade them to achieve desired results. The study will be combination of past data as well as review of previous studies.

      • Evaluation of recalcitrant Sulphide contribution from High Strength & Low Strength Effluent to final discharge
      • Evaluation of Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) at the Inlet of Effluent from High Strength & Low Strength Effluent and at the Final discharge in the PUB sewer line.

DELIVERABLES OUTCOME OF WASTE WATER ANALYSIS

Sulphide (S2)

·       Identification of root cause of Sulphide proliferation and evaluation of effective treatment / measures for mitigation.

·       WW generation process, probable source for sulphide contamination eg Skim Milk Powder (SMP) or Whey powder or any other source.

·        Reviewing Bio-Health / Bio-system performance

·       Reviewing Oxygenation Requirements in Aeration tank and Oxygen augmentation alternatives to ensure atleast 2 ppm of dissolved oxygen

·       Reviewing all parameters Mass Balance

Volatile Organic Compound (VOC)

·       Identification of root cause of VOC proliferation and evaluation of effective adsorption and mitigation options.

·       Probable source for VOC contribution.

·       Reviewing & Sampling of Palm Oil blends being used in the process

·       Reviewing all parameters of Mass Balance

·       Suggesting the most suited adsorption option for handling of VOC; as detected.

A.    Unit wise short term & long term changes, in terms of below shall be listed out.

·       Operation,

·       Process Control,

·       Hardware modification,

B.    Road map to achieve the best performance and to meet PUB guidelines of the Treated Water Quality.

C.     Detailed requirement for any Hardware modification, Installation of new equipment, Internal Inspections calling for shutdown shall be clearly indicated.
