Geo Membrane / Geo Synthetic Membrane / Geo Textile / Geo Liner

A Geomembrane is very low permeability synthetic membrane liner or barrier used with any geotechnical engineering related material so as to control fluid (or gas) migration in a human-made project, structure, or system

GEO MEMBRANE FEATURES

Geo membrane has the following speciality

  1. Excellent strength and durability
  2. Puncture resistance
  3. Resistance to Abrasion
  4. Flexibility, low thermal expansion / contraction
  5. Chemical resistance
  6. Ease of installation
  7. Less weight than other chemical Resistant Liners
  8. Resistance to UV rays
  9. H2S/harsh gases resistant

GEO MEMBRANE APPLICATIONS

All Geo-membrane available in different type of specifications and can be used for different purposes as Water Storage, Earthing Liner, Cover for Waste Water Digesters, Land Fill which require an experienced team of professional to prepare.

Waste Water Treatment Digester Cover

Ability to vary the liquid level because the cover rises and falls with liquid level- the possibility of creating a vacuum which could cause cover damage or draw air into the digester during sludge transfer is minimized.

Eliminates the possibility of an over pressurisation system & eliminates hazards.

Variable storage capacity thus no separate gas holder is required.

Enables flexible operations of the downstream sludge dewatering systems.

Build of hard layer of scum reduces the effective reactor volume.

No hazardous situation due to gas leak, easily repairable but gas leak in fixed roof requires special permission, draining off the whole digester to repair. Thus, plant shut down for a longer period.

3 layer design is robust and offers best resistance to biogas & hard h2s. Such covers are in operation in excess of 10-15 years. Estimate life of the covers is 15+ years with routine check-ups

Pre fabricated cover is rolled up in twinkles type and accommodated in 40ft container for easy shipping and easy spread over digester at site

Secure Land Fill

Geo Membrane available in different configuration and a good and viable solution for secure land fill.

Lining in Water Pond

High performance reinforced Geo-membrane, which is fabricated at our works using auto welders as per ASTM. Geo-membranes formulation are used worldwide in applications which require excellent chemical, oil, and environmental resistance. Typical containment uses include tank farms, impoundments, and landfills, in addition to potable water applications. The Geo-membranes are capable of withstanding a broader range of temperature and chemical environments than any other flexible membranes in the world.

Water Storage

Geo membrane could be used for different size water or waste water storages:

HDPE vs Geo Membrane

Every roll of Geo Membrane uses the same high quality raw materials, formulation and process for manufacturing the finished product. Polyethylene resins vary. Not all resins are created equal

Geo Membrane is a synthetic reinforced geomembrane and provides high strength at minimum thickness. The standard 30 mil thick Geo Membrane strength significantly exceeds 100 mil thick HDPE.

Environmental Stress Cracking – Problems associated with environmental stress cracking (ESC) plague HDPE.

HDPE must use very low Design Working Stress – The EPA recommends working stresses in HDPE be no higher than 10% of the minimum (not typical) specified yield stress for sheet material

Geo membrane has true long term hydrocarbon resistance, HDPE does not

Long Life comparing to HDPE

Geo membrane has flexibility for prefabrication & ease of installation

Installation Guideline

Surface Preparation

Surfaces should be level and free of all sharp rocks (all rock and stone greater than .05 diameter)

Controlling Ground Water

Groundwater should be taken into account and, if present, it will need to be controlled both during and after construction. One method for controlling groundwater is to develop a French drain system under the lining that allows the water to flow laterally under the lining without floating the lining.

Good Slopes

Side slopes should be no steeper than 3:1 whenever feasible.

Receipt Of Liner & Materials

Liner panels are fabricated into large sheets to minimize field seaming. These large panels are first accordion folded, then rolled up on a core.

Anchor Trenches

To secure the edges of the lining in an earthen pit, an “anchor trench” is dug. Anchor trenches are approx. two foot wide by two foot deep (2′ x 2′) and one foot back from the crest of the berm (standard trench dimensions and depth vary according to project design)

Site Structures

Structures, piping, concrete, drains, and any associated work should be completed prior to lining installation
