sales@worldtechnologies.sgWe Provide advance DAF technology, which comes with Pipe Flocculation, which is a Static Mixer come with Coagulation and Flocculation both:
The mixing energy for flocculation is obtained by the turbulence in the mixing unit and the pipe. A coagulant is usually dosed to the Waste water at the inlet of the pipe Flocculator. Immediately after the dosing point a mixing unit is installed for the mixing of coagulant and raw water. The reaction is completed in the pipe following the mixing unit. Mixing energy and reaction energy in the mixing unit and the pipe are a result of turbulence (Reynolds number). Coagulation is the destabilization of the polluted matter in the Waste water. Fine particles are formed, which are not ideal for separation. flocculants has to be added to obtain separable particles. When the coagulation is completed a flocculent is dosed. Mixing of water and the flocculent takes place in a second mixing unit. Floc growth will further be completed in the pipe following the mixing unit. In this way a uniform, ideal floc can be formed for the separation of floc and water in a separator. The PFR is characterized by the plug flow model. The retention time is almost uniform and mixing energy is constant in the pipe cross section.
As such, all particles will be subjected to the same amount of mixing energy and for the same period. This will result in a highly uniform floc with excellent separation characteristics.
The mixing energy in the mixing unit is the most critical part of the Flocculator, whereas the pipe section provides the retention time to complete the reaction. The Flocculator can be provided with additional fitting for dosing of chemicals for neutralization and dissolved air, in case of dissolved air assisted separation of the floc.
DAF unit is a physio-chemical separation process wherein the separation of two phases is achieved by the specific gravity difference The DAF floatation unit is a compact, highly efficient, parallel plate separator. The DAF floatation unit incorporates a large separation area in small volume due to the use of parallel plate technology. The effective area is then reduced to the horizontally projected area of the plates.
Laminar flow is maintained between the plates resulting in predictable performance a coagulant (alum or ferric chloride) is added to the raw or pre-treated water to coagulate colloidal matter and subsequently a flocculent (polyelectrolyte) is dosed to form floc which will be separated in the DAF unit. The flotation unit is a high-built open tank separator for dissolved air assisted separation of floc from water.
The water enters the inlet compartment through a distribution system, which regulates and stabilizes the flow before entering the separation or process zone. The pre-treated wastewater and air saturated recycled water are mixed in a specially designed mixing chamber where air saturated recycled water which is pressurized and depressurized before it is released to floatation tank which operates at atmospheric pressure and this results in formation of fine air bubbles (30 to 50μm). Further, the floating material adheres to air micro bubbles. This increases the buoyancy of floating materials to the surface of the unit.
The floating materials collected on the surface are trapped by moving surface skimmer which is adjustable. Heavy sludge is removed from the sludge cones at the bottom of the separation compartment. Sludge drain valves are installed on the drain line which can be manually or automatically operated depending on the project requirement. The frequency of de-sludge depends on concentration of impurities present in the wastewater. The treated water leaves the floatation unit through a retention baffle and over flow weir. Air saturation can be done either by a specially designed multistage recirculation pump or by a saturation vessel.
There is a wide range of industrial and municipal applications for DAF including:
