Demineralization Packages

Coagulation, Flocculation and clarification in HRSCC, Disinfection, Filtration through Multi Grade Filter followed by Desalination through Reverse Osmosis System, Final Polishing of Treated water by Mixed Bed, Regeneration of Ion Exchanger.

Treatment Process for Demineralization Water

The Parallel Plate Clarifier is an inclined pate, shallow depth sedimentation device. In comparison, the Parallel Plate Clarifier has a number of advantages which overcome the limitations of other products designed for the same performance applications, advantages which yield savings in space requirements, capital, and operating costs. In addition, the technology is key to enhanced solids removals in the liquid/solid gravity separation systems.

Treatment Scheme

The treatment of raw water shall include the following treatment components:

Preliminary Treatment

  • Collection of raw water in a raw water tank.
  • Transfer of the raw water via flash mixer feed pump to flash mixer for coagulation.
  • Coagulation through coagulant and lime as coagulant aid addition in a flash mixing tank.
  • Addition of Sodium sulphide for precipitation of heavy metals.
  • Flocculation with the help of poly electrolyte addition as flocculant and clarification of effluent in High Rate Solid
  • Contact Clarifier (HRSCC)
  • Collection of Clarified water in Intermediate Water Tank.
  • Sludge from clarifier will be collected in a sludge sump and disposed off suitably by client.

Filtration System

  • Transfer of treated water from Intermediate water tank to Multi Grade filter via filter feed pump.
  • Disinfection of clarified water by hypo dosing in intermediate water tank.
  • pH correction by acid dosing in intermediate water tank.
  • Filtration through Multi Grade Filter along with backwash arrangement to remove suspended solids.

Reverse Osmosis System

  • Transfer of filtered water in RO system for Desalination.
  • The proposed system is operated at 1X 100 % capacities.
  • Cartridge filter prior to RO system. RO High Pressure Pump with 100 % standby.
  • De chlorination & Antiscalant dosing prior to RO High Pressure pump.
  • Transfer of filtered water through a cartridge filter system & then to Reverse Osmosis (RO) system for desalination.
  • High pressure pumps were employed to meet the high pressure requirement of the Reverse Osmosis (RO) system.
  • Removal of dissolved solids via Reverse Osmosis treatment.
  • The Reverse Osmosis rejects at about < 6900 ppm TDS will be collected in Filter Backwash / Brine tank and used for filter backwashing. Remains will be collected in waste water pit located within the plant.
  • Collection of RO permeate in the RO water Tank (Intermediate tank – II) for final polishing by Mixed Bed system.

Demineralisation Water Systems

  • Transfer of RO permeate to mixed bed unit for final polishing via Mixed Bed (MB) system
  • Feed pumps & regeneration facilities as required.
  • Final treated water is stored in Demineralized water storage tank.
  • Waste water generated will be collected in waste water pit.
